I. QUESTION WORDS (CÁC TỪ ĐỂ HỎI)
1. Cõu hỏi "WH": 
Là cõu hỏi khi trả lời ta khụng thể trả lời cú hoặc khụng, hoặc cỏi này hoặc cỏi kia như cõu trả lời yes/no mà phải trả lời đỳng theo yờu cầu của từ để hỏi.
2. í nghĩa của cỏc từ để hỏi
- Who (ai) dựng để hỏi về người
Vớ dụ: 
         Who is the MC of this TV programme? (Ai là người dẫn chương trỡnh truyền hỡnh này?)
- What (cỏi gỡ) dựng để hỏi về sự vật, sự việc
Vớ dụ:  
          What is your favourite programme ? (Chương trỡnh nào bạn thớch?)
- When (khi nào) dựng để hỏi về thời gian
Vớ dụ:  
         When does the film start?  (Khi nào bộ phim bắt đầu?)
- Where (ở đõu) dựng để hỏi về địa điểm, nơi chốn
Vớ dụ: 
         Where is my book?  (Quyển sỏch của tớ đõu?)
- Why (tại sao) dựng để hỏi về nguyờn nhõn và mục đớch.
Vớ dụ: 
         Why do you like Tao Quan programme? (Tại sao bạn thớch chương trỡnh Tỏo Quõn?)
- How (như thế nào, bằng cỏch nào) dựng để hỏi về cỏch thức, điều kiện và chất lượng.
Vớ dụ: 
         How is the game show?  (Trũ chơi này thế nào?)
*Trong đú từ để hỏi “how” cú thể kết hợp với 1 tớnh từ để tạo thành cỏc cõu hỏi như:
- How long (dài bao nhiờu, bao lõu) dựng để hỏi về độ dài của sự vật, hoặc khoảng thời gian. 
Vớ dụ: 
         How long does this film last?  (Bộ phim này kộo dài bao lõu?)
- How much/ many (bao nhiờu) dựng để hỏi về số lượng.
Vớ dụ: 
         How many hours a day do you watch television?  (Một ngày bạn xem ti vi bao nhiờu tiếng?)
- How often (bao nhiờu lõu làm 1 lần, cú thường xuyờn khụng) dựng để hỏi về số lần lặp lại hay xuyờn của một mức độ thường hành động hay sự việc.
Vớ dụ: 
          How often do you watch the documentary? (Bạn cú thường xuyờn xem phim tài liệu khụng?)
3. Cấu trỳc cõu sử dụng từ để hỏi
a. Từ để hỏi đúng vai trũ là chủ ngữ.
Cấu trỳc:    Wh- + V + ...?
          A: Who holds this event?  (Ai là người tổ chức sự kiện này vậy?)
          B: Mr. Tom holds this event.  (Ngài Tom tổ chức sự kiện này.)
b. Từ để hỏi khụng đúng vai trũ là chủ ngữ
Cấu trỳc:   Wh- + auxiliary verb + S + V+?
  A: When do you go to the movie theatre?  (Khi nào bạn đến rạp chiếu phim?)
  B: I go to the movie theatre at about 8 pm. (Tớ đi tới rạp chiếu phim khoảng 8 giờ tối.)
II. CONJUNCTIONS (LIấN TỪ )
1. Định nghĩa liờn từ
Liờn từ (hay cũn gọi là từ nối) dựng để kết hợp cỏc từ, cụm từ, mệnh đề hoặc cõu với nhau.
Liờn từ đúng vai trũ quan trọng trong tiếng Anh, đặc biệt là ngụn ngữ viết. Bởi chỳng làm cho cỏc ý trong một cõu, cỏc cõu văn trong một đoạn liờn kết với nhau chặt chẽ hơn.
Cú hai dạng liờn từ cơ bản là:
Liờn từ đẳng lập và Liờn từ phụ thuộc
2. Liờn từ đẳng lập. 
And (và): Dựng để bổ sung thờm thụng tin trong cõu hoặc cho mệnh đề đứng trước nú. 
Vớ dụ:  I like seeing the cartoon and the news when I have free time.  
 (Tụi thớch xem phim hoạt hỡnh và thời sự khi tụi cú thời gian rảnh rỗi.)
But (nhưng): Dựng để nối 2 mệnh đề mang nghĩa trỏi ngược, đối lập nhau.
Vớ dụ: My brother likes watching cartoons but I like watching game shows.  
(Anh trai tớ thớch xem phim hoạt hỡnh nhưng tớ lại thớch xem cỏc chương trỡnh giải trớ.)
Or (hoặc): Được dựng khi cú sự lựa chọn.
Vớ dụ: You can watch Korean film or listen to music.  
(Bạn cú thể xem phim Hàn  hoặc nghe nhạc.)
So (nờn, vỡ vậy mà, vỡ thế nờn, vậy nờn): Dựng để núi về một kết quả của sự việc được nhắc đến trước đú.
Vớ dụ: He often watches news programmes, so he gets a lot of information about society.  
(Anh ấy thường xem cỏc chương trỡnh thời sự nờn anh ấy cập nhật được nhiều thụng tin về xó hội.)
III. Liờn từ phụ thuộc
Because (vỡ, bởi vỡ): Dựng để núi về lớ do của một sự việc được nhắc tới trước hoặc sau nú.
Vớ dụ:  I like this film because it is very meaningful. (Tớ thớch bộ phim này bởi vỡ nú rất ý nghĩa.)
Although/ though (mặc dự, cho dự, tuy rằng): Dựng để nối 2 mệnh đề mà mệnh đề chớnh mang kết quả tương phản với mệnh đề phụ,.
Vớ dụ: Although he had a good performance, he didn't win the contest.  
(Mặc dự anh ấy đó cú phần trỡnh diễn tốt nhưng anh ấy đó khụng giành chiến thắng trong cuộc thi này.)
I want to be a newsreader though some people said that it was a boring job.
(Tớ mong muốn  trở thành một phỏt thanh viờn cho dự một vài người núi rằng đú là một cụng việc nhàm chỏn.)
