Vớ dụ: He might be back at any moment. (Anh ấy cú thể sẽ về bất cứ lỳc nào.) The teacher might call my parents. (Cụ giỏo cú thể sẽ gọi cho bố mẹ của tụi.) 2. Cỏch sử dụng may và might dựng để xin phộp Ngoài việc được sử dụng để diễn tả khả năng thỡ may và might cũn cú thể được dựng khi người núi muốn xin phộp một điều gỡ đú. Vớ dụ: May I interrupt you for a moment? (Tụi cú thể ngắt lời bạn một chỳt khụng? May I come in? (Tụi cú thể vào khụng? Lưu ý: Nếu như ở cỏch sử dụng may và might ở trờn thỡ hai từ này sẽ cú thể núi là mang nghĩa ngang nhau và cú thể thay thế cho nhau. Tuy nhiờn ở cỏch dựng mang nghĩa xin phộp này, thỡ might sẽ tồn tại với vai trũ là quỏ khứ của may. 3. Cỏch sử dụng may và might cú thể thay thế cho nhau trong một số trƣờng hợp Trong văn núi, thụng thường đa số cỏc trường hợp might đều cú thể thay thế cho may.
